This museum is believed to be haunted by some spirits, including a former Jackson County Sheriff named Henry Bugler. Henry was killed in 1866 at the jail and has been spotted in the center south cell wearing a blue suit. Witnesses here have reported extreme cold, growling, footsteps, nausea and hearing a man gasping for air. Jesse James' brother Frank was imprisoned here for about six months.
