The Haunted River Float is a twist on the typical Haunted House concept. As soon as you pull onto the property you will begin to experience the uniqueness of this haunt. Dexter and his friends are always just a scream away. You never know who might pop in as you're signing up and buying your tickets. The Butcher might be demonstrating his carving techniques. The 1/2-mile float on the river, in the dark with River Monsters, is only the beginning of this scare. Once you exit the river you will head right into the corn maze. You never know what is hanging around the next turn. The corn maze takes you into the haunted forest. Dorothy's Haunted Forest off of the Wizard of Oz is nothing compared to ours. If or when you make it out of there you will then get to experience approximately 2,400 square foot haunted house. Every room contains its own unique theme and scare.

Need a little more? Sign up for Zombie Paintball. Take a hay ride up to Zombieland where you will try and defeat the zombies and other targets from the comfort of your hay wagon. Each marker comes with 200 paintballs. Try your skills in one of 3 of our escape rooms. Each room has its own theme and difficulty level. Maybe you just need to throw something. How about axes!!! Try your hand at our axe throwing. You get 12 tries to hit the creepy targets.

The Haunted River Float at Ruby's Landing River Resort in Waynesville MO is your one stop scare.

  • Always creepy fun!

Our group hits the Zombie paintball with “live” zombie targets, haunted river, the warm after river fire then follow up with haunted maze and haunted house every year. Totally worth the drive even better when we camp there.

We go every year and every year it gets better and better. Some amazing actors here and the person who runs at you after backbend is nuts! A+++ to them. Dexter is a fan favorite too of ours. Look forward to seeing him year after year. So much to do. Go early!

To start off the haunt itself isn't scary but I did enjoy my self but wish I didn't spend $35 on it. The parking and buying ticket situation is honestly pretty confusing. I sure hope someone in your group knows how to paddle! I understand that it is a river float but I wasn't expecting to paddle without a guide or anything but you can't be to upset about that because it is a float. As for the scares while on the float there was about 3 people that scared and that was all. Moving on to the "corn maze" I'm pretty sure it wasn't corn but instead wheat. If I'm going to be honest the corn maze part completely sucked there was maybe 4 scarers in it max and it was just a lot of walking through a dark field. After the corn maze you walk up the haunted house and its okay nothing real scary. The house wasn't bad but there was nothing that really set it apart. Overall its okay, was it scary? no. I did have fun watching my friends trying to paddle the 8 person raft but other than that it was a meh experience.
