Lost Graveyard

There was one a gravesite at this location from the mid-1700's to 1854 and it took up about 9 square blocks. In 1853, most of the bodies were moved to the current Borromeo Cemetery, about 1-1/2 miles west. There is said to be 50-200 bodies still here. Graves were opened here as recently as 1982 and witnesses have reported multiple manifestations, including the well documented "Lady in White," a woman buried in her wedding gown.
