Rose Bed Inn
Cape Girardeau, MO 63703
This inn is housed inside a home that was built in 1908 and is said to be haunted by a ghost named Alex. The Schrader Family owned the home originally and it was eventually put on the market. A man named Alex was interested in the home but did not have the money to purchase it. He was engaged to a wealthy woman and would soon have the funds once the two wed. Alex moved into the home and began fixing the place up, and this is when the Schrader Family realized Alex was gay and had a secret lover who he was hiding from his fiance. When the two found out about each other, Alex disappeared, and later an odor led the family to find his body hanging in the attic. His ghost is known to turn off the lights, move or hide objects, smoke cigars (which is strictly not allowed), and appear to guests who share his name Alex.
