Margie Kay, the author of "Haunted Independence." claims that this park is haunted. She has said that she felt numerous ghostly presences while on the grounds, one of which is named "Old George." The western side of the park is rumored to house some particularly dark entities.

    Yes my name is Roxy and my boyfriend is Robbie walking to rottery park one late night/early morning anywhere between 1 or 2 o'clock we're walking through to chatting with eachtogether when my boyfriend said he need to pee so I sat on the bench not too far away from the bridge and and as he was doing his thing I look off into the distance not too far away from me And see a very drak figure of what look like a very fuger of a man but u could not see no skin color or eyes and there was more than one You could not tell they were there untell u pay real close a Attention tell you actually pay attention You wouldn't even notice they were there if you didn't pay attention That was creepy the divide that we both got was not a good we didn't know for sure so we wanted to get out of there But that was the first and last time I've ever been to rotary park and so is my boyfriend ever in the last 6 years Creepy and your heart sank in your stomach We didn't know if we were gonna get hurt or not or something weird or creepy or bad but it's gonna happen but we made sure we got out of there without a problem Beware and just be careful
